Another Jew’s holiday today and tomorrow! This is Columbus Day. After school Mary and I came to my house to sew. Mama was home, but she had no luck at the agencies.
Letter from Mama and Nancy. Marion came up, went home, came again. They took the piano about 12:30. Uncle Dick came. G. and I had supper with Mrs. Daes. Played piano. Got prescriptions.
Two letters from Mama. Had haircut. Esther and Margery came for lunch. Marion came. M, M, and I went to see Mr. Winchester. Dorothy came for supper Mrs. Koppehel and Marion came at 8:30–stayed til 9:30.
Letter from Nancy Fairbank. Grandma finished packing barrel and box. I fixed the swing box, my green tam, etc. Up at 10. Bed about 9:15. Nice day.
Letter from Mr. Clarke and Mama (her birthday). G. got check for $25 from Mrs. Whitcomb. She packed barrel. We wrote to Mama. Pint of ice cream for supper. Caught in rain at store.
Uncle Dick came at 11:45 and drove us to Melrose. The Clarkes are there. I saw Kenneth Porter. Wallace rode home far as Summer St. with us. Listened to N.R.A. Allstar broadcast from 10:45 to 12.
