Didn’t go to Sunday School. Mary didn’t come, anyway. Mama and I went to the Alhambra and saw Will Rogers in “David Harum” and Anna Sten in “Nana.” Both were great.
Seymour Glanz–Sec. 19 won the district spelling bee. Came home after school and listened to radio. Mama and I saw “Last Patrol” and “Moulin Rouge” at the Alhambra tonight.
Mama and I had banana splits in Cunningham’s and were in the Alhambra by 12. Saw “Convention City” and “All of Me.” I basted the hem on my dress this ater and tried on a lot of old dresses.
I got up at 9:30, made bed, and fixed up the room. I wrote to Mr. Clarke, Marion, Nancy, and Theresa. Mama was sent on a job, $17.30. We saw “Son of Kong” and “As Husbands Go” at the Alhambra … Continue reading
Mama and I took a little walk and met Grandma at the Alhambra at 1:15. We saw “Sitting Pretty” and “Private Life of Henry VIII.” Swell show. The reading lamp gave out. Mama got a box of Valentine chocolates.
Today was terribly cold. Gave my topic good. Came home after school and finished “Wisp.” Started “Child of the Wild.” We all saw “Ever in My Heart” and “Tillie and Gus” at the Alhambra tonight. Came around on time.
Felt better this morning. We all went to the Alhambra at 3:45 to see “Havana Widows” and “Lady Killer.” Had to wait till 5 to get in. Met Lily and Mama had ten fits because we walked home with her.
