I bought a pair of roller skates today–$1.49. Lily and I skated on Boston Blvd from 2-5. Grandma washed my head. Mama took back suit and got a navy blue suit. We bought some chocolate peppermints. Advertisements
Wore my shirtwaist dress to school. Kids liked it. Grandma bought a midget radio in Horton’s–only $9. It sounds swell and clear. Lily and I too a walk. It’s swell to hear music.
Sewed on a blue silk dress in school. Grandma looked at some radios and tonight Mama and I looked at radio from here to the Blvd. We rode home in the cars.
Grandma’s 62 birthday! Gave her the towels. Mary and Lily came over and we made fudge. Went to Alhambra and saw “If I Were Free” and “Hips, Hips, Hooray.”
Mama went in town. I finished “Linda Carlton, Air Pilot” in bed. Oscar played in bed with me. Spent afternoon in a dress Mama cut out, but never made. Grandma washed my head and I took a sponge bath.
We had an intelligence test today. I went to the library alone as Lily couldn’t go. Grandma was sick so I did errands and dinner dishes.
Grandma got letter from Esther. Uncle Dick is going to Miami for his cold. I started embroidering one of Grandma’s birthday towels in school and finished it at home. Real pretty.
