MONDAY, APRIL 16, 1934

Sewed on a blue silk dress in school. Grandma looked at some radios and tonight Mama and I looked at radio from here to the Blvd. We rode home in the cars.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11, 1934

Finished button holes today. Wore other dress I made–looks nice. Nettie Kamer got a spiral permanent–$2. She just has waves. It snowed a little, but melted–much colder. Rent is raised to $4,50.

MONDAY, APRIL 9, 1934

Back to school again! The kids said my hair looks nice. My dress is finished but for buttons and button holes and buckle. Lily and I walked to the Blvd. Listened to “Kiddies’ Hour.”

FRIDAY, MARCH 30, 1934

I sewed a lot on my dress today. Went to store. Mama wasn’t sent on any jobs but got a telegram tonight to call somebody up. I get my permanent tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28, 1934

We sat still during sewing period, so I went to Mary’s after school and sewed on her machine. Lily was absent. Mama was sent on a job and is going on a $30 job tomorrow.

MONDAY, MARCH 26, 1934

My pattern came today, so I bought my cloth (.65) and cut it out. Mary and I took care of the kindergarten at 2:45 (played piano a little). It snowed all day today. Very cold.

MONDAY, MARCH 19, 1934

Got a letter from Mr. Clarke. I had to fix the neckline on my dress. I finished “Pot of Gold.” Mr. Connally has a furnished flat for $20, but Mama doesn’t want to move around here.
