Grandma’s 62 birthday! Gave her the towels. Mary and Lily came over and we made fudge. Went to Alhambra and saw “If I Were Free” and “Hips, Hips, Hooray.”

MONDAY, MARCH 5, 1934
Grandma got letter from Esther. Uncle Dick is going to Miami for his cold. I started embroidering one of Grandma’s birthday towels in school and finished it at home. Real pretty.

Thanksgiving and my 13th birthday! Mama and I walked to Lawton St. and back — 13 blocks. Had a swell dinner. Later we walked to the library. We met Albert F. and bought a Free Press.

Letter from Mr. Clarke and Mama (her birthday). G. got check for $25 from Mrs. Whitcomb. She packed barrel. We wrote to Mama. Pint of ice cream for supper. Caught in rain at store.
