Grandma’s 62 birthday! Gave her the towels. Mary and Lily came over and we made fudge. Went to Alhambra and saw “If I Were Free” and “Hips, Hips, Hooray.”

SUNDAY, APRIL 1, 1934
My hair looks lovely. All curls. Mary called for me and we went to Sunday School after 15 weeks. I made fudge this afternoon. Started “Toto and the Gift.”

FRIDAY, JANUARY 12, 1934
Got up at 10. I finished “Mehitable.” Mary and I walked down by the Doty School. We danced at her house and stopped in at Mr. Conally’s. I came around. Made some fudge.

A new year! What a thrill to be writing right under last year. Mama and I just took a little walk today. I read “Emily Climbs” and Mama made some fudge.

Got a card from Miss MacKenzie and a letter from Marion. Got up at 11:45. Am reading “Midsummer.” Mama and I walked to Clairmount. Mama made some fudge.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1933
Didn’t go to Sunday School as Mary didn’t come. I finished “Eight Cousins” and started “Pirate’s Ward.” We had chocolate and pistachio ice cream for supper. Mama made fudge.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19, 1933
Told my civics report real good. We got our report cards. I got a 3 in music and a 1 in Sewing. All rest were 1’s and 2’s. Danced at Mary’s. Mama made some fudge after supper.

Mama and I had sodas and walked to H.P. and bought my shoes and had a nap. Then Mama washed my head and we made fudge. We were going to a show, but it rained. Took a bath in tub.
